This Is Home

Alarm set for 8:30 because church was at 9:30 this morning. 8:30 rolls around and I turn off my alarm, but only to find myself roll over in order to keep sleeping. For this was a morning where church would have to wait. You see us guys were up watching a movie till like 2 last night, more like this morning, so I was tired and needed some beauty rest. As I rolled over thoughts flooded my mind about this and that. Have you ever seen 'Lord of the Rings'? If you have you know Smiguel then, Smiguel has a duel personality and he has two way conversations with himself. This morning when I rolled over I turned into Smiguel. I would think man I really need to get my butt outta bed and get to church. Then my duel personality of the day would fire back, You can praise God from your bed. Back and forth, back and fourth I went, so I settled it like a man. I did enie menie miney moe. Going to church won. I then proceeded to a best out of three series. Finally it was decided that if it was still before 10 that I would go. You guessed it, before I knew it I had a polo and some khakis on. Grabbed my morning coffee and was out the door. As I walked into the place I was confused. It sounded like a concert. I walked into the sanctuary where there was a professional concert looking stage and equipment set up. Was I in the right place? As I looked up I spotted a count down clock. I thought for sure that I somehow managed to sneak past security into a Zac Brown concert. The clock struck zero and the stage erupted in music. With an army of 50 strong in the audience we sang and moved and praised God at the top of our lungs. This was home. The pastor came over during worship to shake my hand and welcome me in his jeans and sports blazer, I kinda stick out like a sore thumb being 6'5. This was home. I didn't feel like your prototypical sermon, where they just "deliver" you the message. This felt like a Dare 2 Share convention where the spirt of God doesn't just touch you, it flat out GRABS you. This was home. I briefly talked with the pastor after the sermon and told him how I was looking for churches online last night and I found one but the page kept shutting down by itself and how their link was the one right below it. Coincidence? I think not. Falls Church is home.
