In the bible it says to pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17) but when I read that it intimidates me. Like how in the heck am I suppose to pray 24 hours a day without stopping? I think in order to understand this concept you have to look at it from a different point of view. It is so easy for us to think about there being a barrier between us and God, I mean it's weird talking to someone who you cant physically hear talk back to you so often times we forget to pray or just put it to the bottom of our to-do-list. But God is so real and yes he knows your every need and every prayer before you let him know but he wants to hear it from you. Think about when someone gives you a present. Doesn't it make a thousand times better when they hand deliver it and wrap it all cute and write a special hand written letter? Same as when we pray. The way we deliver our requests make your bond with God so much better. Now when it says to pray without ceasing I don't think it literally means to never stop praying. I think it means to give even the littlest of your worries up to God. To not take things it to your "own hands" but to put them in God's, so to pray without ceasing is to use God as your advisor. To ask him for guidance and to obey. Now I want you to understand this point right here. God NEVER says
no to any prayer request. He has 3 possible answers.
1. A simple yes
2. Not quite yet
3. I've got something better in mind
God only answers in three ways and what eve way that may be it is the best way for you and your faith walk.
