Laundry Day

Today marks a very important day in my life, today is my first time ever doing laundry. I have to admit to you though that as I sit here watching the clothes go round and round the more restless my mind becomes wondering if I will need to go get a whole new wardrobe today. Not to mention the countless times I've called my mom to make sure that I'm doing it right. As a Christian I want to strive to be "dirty laundry." You see we have a habit or a bad stigma surrounding our lives where we think that if we are a Christian then we have to be sparkly clean and folded nice. We have to wear a suit to church, and give 10 percent, and don't forget to be an usher every month. We walk around living our lives in a bubble. Or safe. Sometimes we get so caught up with how our appearance looks, or how nice our "closet" looks with all of our perfect laundry folded up that we don't even stop to ask ourselves if this is truly the life we should strive to be living. I want you to ask yourself who Jesus surrounded himself with during his life on earth. The common folk, the working folk, the sinners. I think it's safe to say that Jesus's shirt wasn't always perfectly white or folded. When you put yourself in the line of true ministry you are bound to be roughed up a bit, but for me I wouldn't have it any other way.
